Scoutmaster Minute 1/11/2010

Scouting presents many leadership opportunities. However, the best place to start is often with yourself!

Setting meaningful and realistic goals is important. In Scouts, how you achieve those goals is also important. Rank advancement requires completion of a certain number of merit badges - merit badges that are your job to schedule the time and resources to work on.

Part of this is recognizing and taking advantage of opportunities to earn your merit badges: 171st Air Refueling Wing Scout Skiils is one way, summer camp is another. By taking advantage of these opportunities and choosing your merit badge selection well, you are leading yourself toward earning that next rank!

This also set a good example to other Scouts. Sometimes the best way to lead is to lead by example.
